Kieran Quinn MD PhD FRCPC
Principal Investigator
Dr. Kieran Quinn is a General Internist, Palliative Care Clinician-Scientist, and Full Scientist at ICES. His research uses advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and large health datasets to improve end-of-life care for people living with heart failure and dementia. He has secured more than $36 million in research funding and published over 120 papers in leading journals, including NEJM, JAMA, and BMJ. His work has received several national awards, including the Ontario Early Researcher Award and the John Charles Polanyi Prize in Physiology and Medicine.

Research Coordinator
Rabia is an internationally trained physician who holds a Master’s in Health Sciences and is currently a PhD student in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on mental health, chronic disease, and palliative care, with experience leading clinical trials, observational studies, and health services research.
Mohammed Rashidul Anwar MBBS, MSc, PhD Candidate
Research Coordinator
Rashid is an internationally trained physician and PhD candidate in Health Systems Research at the University of Toronto. His work spans clinical and health services research, focusing on AI-based tool evaluation and implementation. He is passionate about patient-centred care, mentoring emerging researchers, and balancing academic work with family life.

Rebeca is a Research Coordinator at Sinai Health with a background in psychology, gerontology, and palliative care. Originally from Mexico, her research focuses on artificial intelligence, clinical trials, dementia caregiving, and end-of-life care, with the goal of making healthcare more accessible, efficient, and person-centered.

Rehmani RPN, HBSc
Master's Student
Rameesha is a MSc student at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. She is a nurse by background. Her research focuses on advancing equitable heart failure by addressing gaps in the implementation of SGLT2 inhibitors for patients with advanced heart failure. Outside of research, she enjoys exploring new food spots, participating in research committees and academic initiatives, and seeking opportunities to collaborate and learn.
Media Mokhtarnia BHSc
Research Coordinator
Media is a medical student at McMaster University and a research student at the Quinn Lab. Her interests include clinical epidemiology, evidence synthesis, palliative care, cardiovascular medicine, and otolaryngology. She aspires to become a clinician-scientist, leading collaborative, practice-changing research that improves patient care and informs health policy and outcomes.
Aisha Ahmad BSc
Research Coordinator
Aisha is an MD student at the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine. She completed an Honours BSc in Life Sciences at McMaster University and has a strong interest in clinical and population health research. Her work primarily focuses on dementia care, with additional interests in cardiovascular medicine and health services research. She is passionate about improving care for older adults through research that informs clinical practice, healthcare delivery, and health policy.
John Lapp MD MPH
Research Coordinator
John is a family medicine resident at McMaster University with a background in public health. His research with the Quinn Group focuses on using large administrative datasets to examine healthcare access and health disparities. He aims to build a career that integrates high-quality clinical care with population health improvement in rural and community settings.
